Dr. Richard Mally, FLD’s expert on forest invasions, traveled to Birmensdorf, Switzerland to participate in a scientific workshop.
From 7th to 9th of October 2024, the “Forest diversity and biological invasions” mini-sympozium was held, hosted by the Forest Biodiversity Centre at Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL, Switzerland. This international scientific workshop focused on the role of biodiversity in biotic forest resistance to invasions by non-native plant and animal species. Mally’s research about historical global insect invasions was relevant to the workshop, and several project collaborations with other workshop attendees emerged from this meeting.
